Beads

Crystal and pearl beads are what stop a rhinestone design from looking flat. Mixing a few beads into a stone layout adds depth and a softer highlight, and beads can carry a design on their own when you want pearl rather than sparkle.
We stock glass and crystal beads with drilled holes, in the sizes and hole diameters used for jewellery making and hand embellishment. Because they come from the same workshop as our stones, the colours sit together properly rather than fighting each other.
Choosing beads

Hole size first — check the drill hole against your thread, wire or head pin before choosing a bead size
Mixing with stones — a good starting ratio is roughly one bead to four or five stones for a subtle effect, or an even split when you want the pearl to lead
Finishing — beads work well along necklines and waistlines as an edge, with stones concentrated above
