Sew On

Sew-on stones have a drilled hole instead of glue, so they are attached with thread. They are the answer when heat is not an option and glue is not reliable enough — silk, chiffon, lace, beaded fabric, and any garment that will be dry-cleaned or repeatedly handled.
Unlike hotfix stones, sew-on stones can be added to a finished garment without a press, and they can be removed with a seam ripper if a design changes. For alterations studios this matters: a customer’s gown can be updated without risking the fabric.
When to stitch rather than press

The fabric cannot take 160 °C — silk, satin, chiffon, sequinned or coated materials
The garment is lined or finished, so a press cannot reach the reverse side
The stone sits on a curve or edge where glue tends to lift
The piece will be dry-cleaned

If your fabric can take heat, hotfix rhinestones are much faster, and our glue is rated for 50 washes under ISO 6330 testing with under 2% loss. For glue-only work on delicate surfaces, use flatback rhinestones.
